Following its success in the local market, Browns, in collaboration with Exide Industries India, established the first lead-acid battery manufacturing factory in Sri Lanka, Associated Battery Manufacturers Ceylon Limited in 1960, with the technical collaboration of British Batteries UK.

Today, Browns dominates the automotive battery market with a significant market share and has become a one-stop-shop for automotive batteries, and related services, and offers a full range of automotive service solutions. Browns is the sole distributor of Exide, Lucas and Dagenite automotive batteries in Sri Lanka.
